Beehox Proxy Integration

Endpoint

  • Host: core.beehox.com

  • Port: 878

  • Protocols: http/https, socks5

  • Test URL: https://ipv4.icanhazip.com

Use core.beehox.com:878 as the default endpoint for code integration.

Connection formats

You can connect in two formats:

  1. API key format

  2. Login/password format

Format 1: API key

API key connection

Where to get API key

  • For a new account, API key must be created first.

  • Open Settings tab -> API Keys.

  • Create and manage keys there (create/revoke/regenerate).

  • In Residential tab, the last created API key is auto-loaded for convenience.

For new accounts, API requests will not work until you create at least one API key in Settings -> API Keys.

Your app authenticates with api:YOUR_API_KEY.

  • Proxy verifies key and routes traffic.

  • Host and port are always core.beehox.com:878.

  • Copying the latest snippet from Residential keeps settings aligned.

If your integration returns an IP from https://ipv4.icanhazip.com, the proxy connection is configured correctly.

Where to get login/password

In dashboard:

  1. Open Residential tab.

  2. In Proxy Data block copy:

    • Login

    • Password

    • Host

    • Port

How login/password connection works

  • Your app authenticates with residential proxy credentials (Login/Password).

  • Proxy uses these credentials for access and routing.

  • Host and port are provided in Residential -> Proxy Data.

Use login/password mode when you want static residential credentials from the Proxy Data block.

Proxy targeting settings (geo/state/city/provider/rotation/session)

Where to configure:

  1. Open Residential tab.

  2. In Proxy Settings block, set:

    • Country (geo)

    • State

    • City

    • Provider (ISP)

    • Rotation

    • Session limit

How it works:

  • These settings are applied automatically to generated proxy credentials.

  • The code snippet in Residential is auto-updated with your latest selected settings.

  • You do not need to manually append geo/session parameters in code if you copy the current snippet from dashboard.

Best practice:

  • First set targeting/rotation/session in Residential.

  • Then copy fresh snippet and use it in your app.

  • If you change settings later, copy snippet again to keep parameters in sync.

After changing geo/rotation/session settings, always copy a fresh snippet. Old copied strings can use outdated targeting.

How to add settings into code

Best practice: store credentials in environment variables.

Example .env:

Build proxy URL in code:

http://${LOGIN}:${PASSWORD}@${HOST}:${PORT}

Quick check before integration:

Expected result: request succeeds and returns a public IP.

Troubleshooting

  • 407 -> check login/password or API key format

  • timeout -> check outbound access to core.beehox.com:878

407 Proxy Authentication Required means credentials are invalid or passed in the wrong format.

Timeout errors usually mean network/firewall restrictions or temporary upstream issues. Add retries with backoff.

Common mistakes

  • Wrong API format: use api:YOUR_API_KEY (not YOUR_API_KEY:x).

  • Mixing methods: for API mode use only api + API key, not dashboard login/password.

  • Wrong host/port: use core.beehox.com:878.

  • Credentials not URL-safe: if password has special chars, URL-encode it.

  • Hardcoded secrets in repository: keep keys in .env, never commit real credentials.

Never commit real API keys or proxy passwords to Git repositories.
